2026 Candidates for Election

Candidate for the Office of Vice President

Timothy “Yankee Bear” Carroll – Knoxville Knoxvilles

Seeking the position of Vice President of the TAoVBB Board of Directors.

And as most know, long winded here…

Each and every year ( 9th)  as a member of this incredible organization the fellowship, care and camaraderie exhibited by all meets no bounds and continues to grow, grow and grow again. Absolutely grateful I have the privilege and honor to be a part of ‘this family’.

Back in perhaps 2016, a dear scouting friend of mine, Lynn ‘Hawkeye’ Bates, knowing through casual conversation my love of both history and baseball,  began describing this group, this ‘association’ he became a part of called TAoVBB.  My interest was immediate, and I actually needed to ‘wait’ until 2018 when there was an opening on one of the two Knoxville area VBB clubs! From the moment I stepped on the field , I knew this was meant to be. Little did this aging older boy know at the time, this ‘love of our kids game for adults’ would grow into such a profound passion, filled with genuine friendships all across the league.

My ‘Love’ of the game began I guess back in the year of the ‘Miracle Mets ‘ of ’69. I was six, still few years away from Little League, but I was hooked. We had our own sandlot, actually a sod farm all around me growing up. It was  ‘ours’. Guess the closest character in the Sandlot to me was indeed ‘Hamilton Ham. 😊 . We played until we could barely see the ball. Great days. I eventually played , like most, Little League, school etc. Baseball, softball, was always one of my biggest passions.

I was encouraged to submit my name for Knoxville player representative I believe in Fall of ’21. I can honestly say, for five years now I have been blessed to be a part of a board of directors under the leadership of our beloved Uncle Jesse, Stonewall and currently Mr. Mayor. What is exceptional are all the remaining board members current and past. The absolute compassion they all exhibit reflects in how successful and genuine our league is to this very day.

If elected to this position, and understanding it transcends into four years of commitment, and I will dedicate myself and time (less than two years to retirement), to continuously pursue our leagues commitment to itself, our ethos, promoting camaraderie, and supporting Natural in his new position, as well as all the board members.   I will be very supportive of venue relationships and researching new venue possibilities. Another aspect I would like to pursue is gathering recruiting ideas and suggestions, asking input from across the league, then in turn promoting such opportunities and events etc. I regard community involvement, interaction at local events  and promoting our league very important.

Just a bit of my history…

Father of three amazing adult children, and recently welcomed a beautiful grandson…

I was raised on the farming east end of Long Island, plenty of room for our own ‘sandlot.

Played baseball and wrestled in school.  Joined the Army after school , after the service, returned home, worked in land surveying for few years, then accepted a job offer at Brookhaven National Laboratory on Long Island as an alignment specialist for 13 years.

Moved in 2003 to Oak Ridge, currently in my 21st year Oak Ridge National Laboratory   as a 3-D Metrologist, optical tooling and alignment specialist.

-TAoVBB Knoxville area representative 5th year

-Great Smoky Mountain Council Boy Scouts of America. Numerous positions including    council commissioner service, leadership training teams etc.

-Historic Ramsey House Board of Directors 2020-2023, 2025-2026

Heath “H.I.” Farris – Lightfoot Club of Chattanooga

Ladies and gentleman of the Tennessee Association of Vintage Base Ball,
My name is Heath “H.i.” Farris.  I have been a league member since 2015 and the captain of the Lightfoot Club of Chattanooga since 2018.  I have had the honor of being awarded the 2015 League MVP for the Lightfoot Club and the League Commissioner’s Award in 2025.  As captain of the Lightfoot Club I have had the privilege of acknowledging and awarding the Lightfoot MVP to some of the finest members of the Association.

I am submitting my name as candidate for the position of Vice President of the TAoVBB.

I cherish every moment of my experience with the league from the 2014 Fathers’ Day event at Engel Stadium in Chattanooga, the free Training Camp in Fort O where life long friendships were sparked, to field setup/ tear down, the SDC, the League banquets, game days, and so much more.  Having received words of encouragement over the years, I want to share my creativity and enthusiasm with the league.

My goals will be to resume the league program to provide the fans with a tangible reminder of a great afternoon with the TAoVBB, re-establish a second team in Knoxville, and explore ways to increase fan attendance.

I am thankful to be a member of this great community and committed to the love and joy we share for vintage baseball ball.

Thank you for your consideration.

Candidates for the Office of Secretary

Aaron (Indy) Hoehn – Grasshopper Club of Chattanooga

I’ve absolutely loved being a part of this league more than I could have ever imagined when I joined before the 2025 season. My family also quickly fell in love with the quirky charm and intricacies of all the rules and interesting players we’ve met across the league. I feel driven and obligated to give back to this association that has given my family and I so much to enjoy and look forward to over the past two seasons. If I can further promote and grow our league in any way, I’m going to do it, regardless of the election results.

I’m an intensely private person, but for the sake of this process and my ability to serve the league, my other information is below.
Professionally, I serve as an Area Director of Operations with multi‑state oversight in nonprofit medical operations, guiding clinical quality, operational performance, and organizational strategy across a broad regional footprint. I hold a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Purdue University, a Master of Business Administration from the University of Memphis, and I am currently completing my Doctor of Business Administration at South College. I previously served as Treasurer on the Board of Directors for the National Kidney Foundation of Indiana and as a member of the Medical Advisory Board for IPRO Network 8, and I continue to contribute to national quality‑of‑care initiatives through the Renal Healthcare Association Quality Committee. In addition to my professional and governance work, I serve as an assistant wrestling coach for a local middle school, supporting youth development and athletic mentorship.

Strength: Bird identification.
Weaknesses: Hairline and eyesight.

I appreciate your consideration.

Candidates for the Office of Middle Tennessee Player Representative

Connor “Little Brother” Bradley – Phoenix of East Nashville

Hey, everyone. My name is Connor Bradley, but most of you know me as Little Brother. I would be honored if you trusted me to represent the players of the Middle Tennessee region. I began playing vintage base ball 10 years ago for the Phoenix of East Nashville at just 20 years old. It took some convincing, but my brother and my dad finally convinced me to come out to a practice and I was hooked instantly. From arbiting games, to leading the Phoenix for 4 years, and sometimes just being a crank at a random game, I love being involved with this league in any and every way that I can. After being apart of this league for so many years, I feel as if I am ready to step into a bigger role and that it’s time I give back to a league and it’s wonderful people that have given me so much over the last 10 years.

A little bit more about myself:

I have lived in Tennessee my whole life, being born and raised in Goodlettsville where I still live to this day. I played baseball, soccer, and I bowled growing up, but baseball has always had a strong hold on me. I attended Bethel university in McKenzie, TN on a bowling scholarship from 2015-2019 where I received my bachelor’s degree in Fitness and Wellness. I continued my education at the same university from 2019-2021 on a Graduate Assistant scholarship for intramural sports where I earned my masters degree in education. When I’m not playing vintage base ball, you can find me bowling in various leagues around the Nashville area or playing sandlot baseball.

Kenneth “Stitch” Douglas – Nashville Maroons

Players of the Tennessee Association of Vintage Base Ball,

I would like to be considered for the position of Middle Tennessee Players Representative on the Board of Directors of the Tennessee Association of Vintage Base Ball. I believe I will bring a strong player-focused perspective to the Board and serve as a voice for the players and clubs of Middle Tennessee.

Vintage baseball has become much more than simply another sport to me. It combines my lifelong love of baseball with history, competition, fellowship, and the opportunity to share the game with our families and communities. I believe the players are at the heart of what makes the Tennessee Association of Vintage Base Ball successful, and I would be honored to represent their interests on the Board.

I have also had the privilege of previously serving on the TAoVBB Board as both Treasurer and Secretary and Media director, and I want to come back for more!

Those experiences gave me an understanding of the responsibilities involved in serving the Association and the importance of listening to the members and working together for the good of the organization.

As Middle Tennessee Players Representative, my goal would be to listen first, communicate clearly, and represent the players fairly. I would work to make sure the concerns, ideas, and perspectives of Middle Tennessee players are heard at the Board level while also helping strengthen communication and cooperation between our clubs and the Association as a whole.

I would be honored to have the opportunity to serve the players of Middle Tennessee and the Tennessee Association of Vintage Base Ball once again. I sincerely appreciate your consideration of my candidacy and your support.
