The Highland Rim Distillers tangled with the Stewarts Creek Scouts on Sunday April 6th at the beautiful Historic Sam Davis Home and Plantation. It was a perfect day for base ball and the match was a finely contested affair. The Distillers got on the board first with two aces tallied in the bottom of the first inning. The match entered the fifth frame with the contestants locked in a 4 to 4 tie. The top of the fifth was a boon for the Scouts as they tallied 6 aces however the stubborn Distillers clawed their way back from the deficit and tied the game at 11 in the bottom of the ninth. The tenth frame proved to be the undoing of the Scouts as they allowed the winning run to score in the bottom of the inning. Only one player was forced to seek medical attention.
