2016 Candidate Information

Candidates for Vice President

Chris “Snookie Roy” Hoff – Phoenix of East Nashville

  • Captain, charter & current member-Phoenix VBBC of East Nashville.
  • Charter member-TAOVBB & Franklin Farriers.
  • Charter & current member-H&H9 travel club.

Professional Experience

  • 15 Years’ Senior-level Management & Project Management experience with International Fortune 500 Companies.
  • 20 Years’ experience in market intelligence, marketing & consumer research.

Management experience has taught me a lean-forward culture and organized leadership, which provides strong support from within, builds the infra-structure key to organizational success.  My marketing background taught me that strong support is key to a positive experience that drives a brand forward.

I’d like to work towards strengthening our brand providing the support necessary to show we’re more than a metro league. We deliver a uniquely-fun special event. Exhibitions-not merely games played for standings. And, that positive experience should be for attendees and participants.  All member clubs should be supported and empowered to provide their own unique experience. This is where board and membership should work together.

As a board member I’ll provide transparency and accountability.  I understand I work for you to ensure support for a fun-positive event that makes you excited about the experience you can provide for all who attend.

Tim “Meatball” Morgan – Franklin Farriers

It has been an honor to serve the league for the past four years in various capacities as treasurer, registrar, schedule card maker, webmaster, Program author, Ballist Manual compiler, and most importantly, the guy you call when something needs to be done. I am asking for your vote to let me serve another four years in the role of Vice President and Commissioner.

I know what serious level of effort is required to run this league. I see the challenges we face in the upcoming years: continuing to balance the words of our mission statement with the intensity of our competition, the challenges of being a state-wide organization, balancing the needs of each region and venue.

It’s important work, though, especially when you are able to see fathers play ball with sons, brothers with brothers (and sisters,) and see kids and adults leave our matches energized about the history of baseball.

There are many opportunities available to play bat and ball sports, but there is only one Tennessee Association of Vintage Base Ball. Vote Meatball.

Candidates for Secretary

Justin “Wings” Angel – Mountain City Club of Chattanooga

Members of the TAOVBB,

I humbly ask for your vote and support in my bid for Secretary of the TAOVBB. I fell in love with this league at first sight. I have served as Captain of Mountain City for the past two seasons. I now want to work harder and give more back to the TAOVBB by serving on the board as Secretary.

I want to continue the great strength and momentum this league possesses and facilitate proper adjustments and growth when needed. I will be a steward of this amazing association and the principles set forth and exhibited by our exquisite members.

I was elected as Circuit Court Judge in 2014 for an eight year term. I preside over civil and criminal matters in six counties. I have a BA in political science from UTK and a JD from John Marshall. I’m licensed to practice in law in Tennessee and the Federal Courts. I also serve on the regional board of directors for the Boy Scouts of America. This consists of 11 counties and 6,600 youth.

I would be greatly honored to receive your vote, thus allowing me to represent you and the TAOVBB as Secretary. Thank you and huzzah!

Brigid “Ginger” Day – Travellers Club of Brentwood

I have been a Traveller (of the Oak Hill and Brentwood variety) for three years and a Cubs fan since the day I was born. When I’m not on the field or with my family, you can find me at The Brentwood Library planning events and programs. My strengths include coming up with (some might say crazy) ideas and turning them into reality. I’m currently a part of Leadership Brentwood, recently managed a school board candidate campaign (we won!), and have just retired from producing a live show at TPAC after three years. I “show a little ginger” in everything I take on. It would be my distinct pleasure to serve as Secretary of the TAoVBB.

Marion “Violet” Garriott – Nashville Maroons

Vote for Marion ‘Violet’ Garriott!
I’m an enthusiastic, hard-working, forward thinking player. I have a love for the league and will bring a fresh perspective to the table. I will work hard to capture the board decisions and communicate them out to our membership.
Vote for Violet!
